MOTOROLA ADDS FASTER 68302 MULTIPROTOCOL PROCESSOR

Motorola Inc’s Microprocessor and Memory Technologies Group, in Santa Clara now has a 25MHz version of its 68302 Integrated Multiprotocol processor. The company claims that the increased speed enables the 68302 to support the data rates of the emerging V.Fast modem standard, including full duplex communication at 28.8Kbps. The 68302 has an aggregate serial bandwidth of 2.5Mbps, it says. And Motorola is also now shipping its 3.3V 16MHz 68302. In 10,000-up quantities, the 25MHz 68302 is available from Motorola in 132-pin PQFP and PGA packages for $30; the 3.3V 16MHz 68302 is available in a 144-pin TQFP package for $25 for 10,000-up.
