Motorola unveils Intel powered RAZR i smartphone

RAZR i with Intel Inside is powered by Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich and also offers the choice to upgrade to Jelly Bean

Motorola Mobility has partnered with to introduce a new 4.3-inch full-screen smartphone, Motorola RAZR i powered by an Intel processor.

The new smartphone run on powered by Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich (upgradeable to Jelly Bean) and features 2.0 GHz Intel Atom processor.

Razr i is planned to be launched in Argentina, Brazil, Britain, France, Germany and Mexico in October this year.

Motorola claimed that the Intel processors will allow users to get an instant-launch 8-megapixel camera that can load in less than a second.

Motorola said RAZR i offers 40% more powerful battery than Apple’s iPhone 4S and sports a the camera can take 10 shots in under a second.

Motorola Mobility Consumer Experience Design senior vice president Jim Wicks said together with Intel, users are offered with a camera that launches in an instant, Web pages that load fast and a device that has balance of screen size and fit in hand.

"RAZR i delivers just that when you put an Intel-fast processor in a beautifully designed phone and add in extra long battery life."

Intel Mobile and Communications Group general manager Erik Reid said: "Motorola RAZR i with Intel Inside naturally blends together the value propositions of high performance Intel Architecture and great battery life, Motorola Mobility device innovation and the Android™ platform."

The new smartphone includes Google Play, which gives user the access to more than 600,000 apps, games, books and movies. It also features Google Maps for Android that offers free turn-by-turn directions and voice guidance.

RAZR i features Voice Actions for Android, which will compose a text, get directions, make a call, play a song or simply Google something through voice instructions.

It also features near field communication (NFC) technology that enable users to send contacts, links, maps and directly to compatible phones with Android Beam.

RAZR i is protected with a splash-guard coating, even on the electrical boards inside and has a long battery.

The new phone will also offer users with a choice of setting up SMARTACTIONS battery savings rule, which will automatically adjust to get more out of each charge.

With SMARTACTIONS, users can maximise their last ounce of power, or prevent the phone from ringing during a meeting.
