MOTHERCARE TO TRADE DOWN TO IBM AS/400 FROM 3090-150E

By CBR Staff Writer

Mothercare UK Ltd is downgrading to an AS/400 network from its IBM 3090-150E and has awarded the UKP4.5m facilities management contract to Hoskyns Group Plc. Hoskyns will manage the existing mainframe and implement the new system, the details of which have still to be finalised but 27 staff have transferred to Hoskyns and will be responsible for Mothercare’s point of sale systems and financial and inventory applications. Both IBM and Electronic Data Systems were unsuccessful bidders for the prime contract.
