MOSCOW FOCUS: PARTIYA WINS BROTHER DISTRIBUTION DEAL

By CBR Staff Writer

Making official what had been a de facto relationship for some time, Russia’s largest electronics retailer Partiya has been appointed a Brother official distributor and service center in Russia with full rights to import into Russia. Partiya has been selling Brother products for three years and is now the largest distributor in Russia. Previously the two official channels for Brother products were the Japanese Trading house Mitsui and Brother Finland. According to Boris Shcherbakov, vice-president at Partiya, the company aims to capture up to 10% of the Russian fax machine market in 1997 with Brother equipment. The company’s target is annual sales of 30,000 fax machines.
