MOSCOW FOCUS: BIT DEVELOPS CHARACTER RECOGNITION SYSTEM

Moscow-based BIT Software has developed a character recognition system designed to interpret hand-written text. The company claims that without special tuning the system is capable of determining almost 99% of text written in Russian or English providing all letters in the word are written separately. The program will be available at a price of $1,600 starting from September 1997.
