Having just gone public on the Toronto Stock Exchange, and raising some $27m Canadian dollars in the process, software configuration management specialist Mortice Kern Systems Inc is about to release a new version of Web Integrity, its web object management software for intranet project leaders, workgroup managers and business workgroups managing business critical intranets. Web Integrity marketing Manager, Jeff Hendrikse, said the product has been specifically designed for use by the non- technically minded, such as members of a human resources or marketing department, enabling them to concentrate on content issues rather than technical problems. Web Integrity builds on MKS’ experience in the software configuration management field, and enables multiple people to work on the same page while avoiding over-writes. Version 2.2 adds a simplified user interface as well as enhanced staging and content approval functionality. The product’s workflow feature enables an edited page to be automatically sent through the proper approval channels – such as management, quality assurance and the legal department – before it is published, altering the view of the page depending on the need of the individual user. As the page goes through the channels multiple departments are also able to add input to the document. The product also has a version control engine which stores historical data at the server, enabling the user to quickly and easily replace incorrect or hacked pages with the previous published version. The server is also home to customised page templates, enabling the user to ensure that pages adhere to company style and standards. Web Integrity 2.2 will be released at the end of November, no prices as yet. á
