Morse Holdings Plc, the UK-based systems integrator, has added an e-commerce capability to its implementation skills by acquiring UK e-commerce and consulting company Hughes Rae Ltd. Morse is paying an initial consideration of $430,000, but the final cost could rise to as much as $6.3m, depending on the Derby consulting firm’s reaching certain, undisclosed performance targets. Morse’s marketing director, Mark Byatt, said Hughes’ consultancy practice will dovetail with Morse’s technology integration strengths, as well as adding essential e-commerce expertise. Morse will seek to exploit its new found e-commerce skills via is three UK offices, four more in Germany, and its four most recent additions in France, acquired when took a 34% stake in Partner System, a French Sun reseller.
