Food retailer Morrisons has chosen Wipro Retail, an arm of Wipro Technologies, for planning and management of IT systems based on Oracle ERP platform.
Gary Barr, CIO for Morrisons, said that the contract is expected to support the future growth of the business by replacing the existing IT systems.
Morrisons says that Wipro Retail was selected for the job based on strong feedback from Oracle Implementation references. The retailer was also impressed with the IT provider’s work during the planning and scoping phase.
In planning and scoping, Wipro Retail took up works around manufacturing, testing and business intelligence / data warehousing. It also offered a combination of on-shore, near shore and off-shore resources.

Wipro Retail caters to grocery, pharma and specialty retailing sectors through its offerings in customer analytics, RFID, global data synchronisation, instore, merchandising & pricing, and supply chain management. Among various contracts, it has implemented an enterprise identity management system to a grocery and drug retailer; and designed and developed an enterprise-wide data warehouse to a food distributor in the US.
