Wireless and video surveillance applications provider Moonblink Communications has partnered with an integrated IT applications provider PC Care to provide 100% wireless coverage for the Angleton Danbury Medical Center in Texas.
Moonblink and PC Care have utilised the wireless networks provider Xirrus’ XR-4000 Wireless Arrays and the Xirrus Management System (XMS) to deliver a wireless network capable of supporting the users running both voice and data applications simultaneously.
The two companies have chosen Xirrus XR-4000 Arrays as the density of users and applications are high.
Xirrus XR-4000 Arrays includes 8 modular access points (operating at either 2.4GHz or 5GHz) and can support up to 1920 users with up to 3.6Gbps.
The wireless networks provider could provide more than enough coverage for the entire 100,000 square foot facility with just 25 XR-4000 Wireless Arrays, claims Xirrus.
The XMS will facilitate the hospital’s IT staff a way to monitor and manage the network and configure multiple SSIDs and VLANs, which they have used to provide three separate access levels: one for internal workers’ data applications, one for internal workers’ Vocera voice traffic, and one for hospital guests.
