Molynx Plc has acquired the Swindon-based systems house Codepoint Systems Ltd for UKP1.45m. Codepoint was established five years ago and specialises in security and access control systems, and its primary product is the personal computer-based Fortress access control system. It is the third security and closed circuit television business acquired by Molynx in the last year, the other two being Synchronised Systems and a Norwegian closed circuit TV house called Hernis Scan which specialises in offshore and marine applications. Molynx, part of the Electronic Management Systems Group, claims to be Europe’s largest supplier of closed circuit television ancillary equipment. Codepoint will continue to operate from its Swindon base and neither company is envisaging any staff changes.
