AEG AG’s ModComp, Modular Computer Systems, has added an entry level 32-bit mini to its Classic line to complement the top-end 32/87 launched in the summer (CI No 707). The new Classic 32/57 is rated at 1.3 Whetstone MIPS and is inter alia proposed as an upgrade for the company’s 16-bit users wanting to go 32-bit. Using a Schottky TTL CPU including four Am29516 multipliers, the 57 has up to 240Mb memory, 32Kb two-way set associative cache and 16 independent sets of mapping registers; no prices given.
