Mobilisafe debuts mobile risk management application

Service delivers real-time vulnerability management that is cloud-based

By CBR Staff Writer

Mobilisafe has unveiled its new cloud-based mobile risk management (MRM) application, which can eliminate the risks associated with the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend.

Mobilisafe co-founder and CEO Giri Sreenivas said most companies are in the dark about risks to their corporate data from mobile devices.

"We have addressed this key customer problem and its consequences with our mobile risk management solution, and are the only company that delivers end-to-end mobile vulnerability management in real time," added Giri.

"Our cloud-based, agentless technology is unique in raising awareness and co-opting employee participation to secure company data."

Mobilisafe enables IT to discover mobilised employees and the risks their devices introduce to company data, and remediate and mitigate those risks with access control and patch management capabilities.

Mobilisafe, which is backed by blue-chip investors Madrona Venture Group, Trilogy Equity Partners and T-Venture, uses proprietary technology to identify connecting devices, and engages employees in keeping company data secure.

IT can use Mobilisafe’s application to send download links and instructions to employees and recommend the employee update the firmware of their device to eliminate the vulnerability and block devices that fail to comply, the company noted.

Mobilisafe’s application, which has a typical set up time of 10 to 15 minutes, requires no hardware, on-device software or network adjustments for setting up.

The company has invited IT firms to get a mobile risk assessment, which provides an immediate snapshot of all mobile devices connecting to their company’s network and an overview of the risks these devices present to the organisation.
