The user opens the gates by simply calling a phone number. The system has a built in user’s caller ID, which verifies the identity of the caller, allowing only authorised users to open the gates. It has the advantages of being harder for thieves to duplicate than remote control technology and it does not require multiple gate users to carry a number of remote controls.
ControlID uses GSM technology, but is still able to recognize the caller ID from any phone. The system is currently being used by collective farms in Israel.
