Amplifying Friday’s note on Motorola Inc’s Canadian adventure (CI No 928), Mobile Data International Inc is a Richmond, British Columbia maker of data communications systems, and was under offer from BCE Inc at $Can9.75 a share for up to 63.5% of the equity before Motorola stepped in with its $Can13.50 a share offer for the lot, which values the company at $US81.4m.
