This is a complementary deal to the an earlier alliance with Ericsson to formulate MobilCom’s UMTS network infrastructure. The Ericsson and Nokia will share the total investment, which amounts to around $1.4 billion for the investment until the end of 2003.
The company stated that it has involved Nokia, in the hope of an increased speed of the rollout, improved access to UMTS end devices and a broader selection of application from net-start on.
Both suppliers are also intending to assume the pro rata financing of the network rollout.
