mmO2 also says that the proportion of service revenues from data has increased to 14.6%, compared to 13.4% in the previous quarter, and that a total of 1,768 million SMS messages were sent, an increase of 6%.
The operator’s UK business added 111,000 net new subscribers, with churn falling from 31% in the previous quarter to 30%. Contract ARPU also improved, it increased by $8 million to $788 million.
mmO2 also saw good growth in Germany, where its unique O2 Genion service continued to deliver post-pay growth. Net new customers in Germany increased by 195,000 in the quarter, with 103,000 of these being contract customers.
