MIX AND MATCH 10/100BASE-TX HUB NOW RELEASED BY NETWORTH

By CBR Staff Writer

Irving, Texas-headquartered Networth Inc has unveiled the Series 1000 Micro 10/100 hub, claimed as the industry’s first dual speed workgroup hub to enable 10Base-T and 100Base-TX connections to be mixed and matched within the same hub unit. The offering features 24 ports that automatically sense incoming network traffic as either 10Base-T or 100Base-TX and transfer them to the appropriate internal segment, says Networth. Optional uplink capabilities enable the device to be connected to other 10Base-T or 100Base-TX (Class II) hubs or stacks, or the additional connection to another Micro 10/100, providing up to a total of 46 ports, the firm says. On the management side, each of the 24 ports features a light emitting diode that displays 10- and 100Base-T port status alternately at four second intervals. Each unit also comes with a hot-swappable power supply module, with the option of a second module for dual-redundancy. The hub is shipping now, but the company gave no prices for it.
