Mitsubushi Electronics America announced yesterday that it has begun shipping samples of a 72-megabit direct rambus dynamic random access memory chips. It has also introduced 72- and 144-megabyte RIMM modules. The new components are built on a 0.25 micron processes. Mitsubushi is initially targeting desktop PCs, but will be later extend to workstations, servers, notebook PCs, and other consumer and communication products.
