MITSUBISHI STARTS UK SOFTWARE SERVICES DIVISION

By CBR Staff Writer

Mitsubishi Electric PC Division has set up a new division to sell software integration and services to UK-based medium sized companies, or those with revenues of around 5m pounds. Mitsubishi will base much of its services integration work around Navision, an enterprise resource planning software suite from a Danish company of the same name. Mitsubishi will also offer customers software from other vendors, such as computer telephony integration software, to complement the ERP package, said the company’s managing director, Ian Cowen. Mitsubishi, which is effectively a reseller of the Navision ERP suite, recognizes that its chosen product will face competition from SAP’s R/3 for small and medium companies, but hopes to reap revenues of 2m pounds by the end of next year. The software solutions division currently has 10 staff, which should grow to 30. The company also has plans to expand the division into Germany and France late next year, where it says Navision is well established.
