The parent company is famous worldwide for its giant television screens which are installed at major sporting events, so it will come as little surprise that Mitsubishi America Inc is claiming leadership in the large screen stakes for the office. The company has introduced a 37 high-resolution auto-scanning colour monitor which supports IBM EGA, CGA and PGC-compatible graphics input, as well as inputs from laser disks, video cassette recorders and other NTSC TV sources. The XC-3710C puts up 480 lines of 640 dots, and automatically locks to horizontal scanning frequencies from 15KHz to 31.5KHz and vertical scan speeds of 40Hz to 75Hz. It can hold six character sizes, seven fonts, and can display 8, 16, 64 or an infinite number of colours. It weighs a daunting 243 lbs and costs under $10,000 in unit quantities.
