MITI TO HELP COMPANIES ENTER JAPANESE MARKET

Japan’s Ministry of International Trade & Industry says it will establish a consulting firm in Tokyo early next year to help foreign companies enter the Japanese market: it plans to invest $4m in the firm and seek a matching investment from private companies to create the company, which will provide foreign companies with expertise on market surveys, finding new customers and hiring capable staff; Japan’s direct investment abroad was $41,580m in the year to March 1992, against just $4,340m of foreign direct investment in Japan.
