In an effort to put into effect the part of the US-Japan semiconductor trade agreement that covers the commitment to increase Japanese purchases of US chips, MITI, the Ministry of International Trade & Industry is pressing the Big Six Japanese chipmakers to put up money for an international semiconductor exchange where foreign manufacturers could promote their wares.
