Under the terms of the alliance, CompOne will add Misys’ electronic medical record (EMR) to the suite of Misys applications it currently offers to medical practices through its application service provider (ASP) services.
The company is also planning to provide front-level support and training for the application.
The information technology capabilities required to adopt, implement and maintain an EMR solution can sometimes be a significant barrier for smaller medical practices, said Scott Sanner, vice president of sales for Misys. EMR through an ASP model, however, can alleviate IT complexities.
Misys said its EMR aims to accelerate record keeping processes and enable physicians to retrieve and input patient data at any point from a PC, handheld or wireless device.
