MIS International Ltd, a sofdware house that specialises in doing Japanese versions of foreign software, has picked up the Champs/2 plant operations control package from Florida company Champs Software Inc: the software runs on mid-range IBM and DEC machines and costs from around $45,000; MIS also plans to market the software in the US through its subsidiary in Los Angeles; MIS was previously the sole distributor, and is still an agent for, the BPICS manufacturing software, now being handled by SSA Japan, run by former Sun Microsystems general manager Tak Matsumoto.
