Santa Barbara, California-based Miramar Systems Inc, a provider of Macintosh to personal computer networking software, has begun shipping its PC MACLAN for Windows NT enabling an NT 4.0 server or workstation to share files, drives and printers with a Mac OS-based machine. PC MACLAN for Windows NT integrates an AppleTalk client and server into the NT architecture. It enables personal computers and Macintoshes to share files, volumes and drives bi-directionally, and adds to Miramar’s existing products for Windows 95 and 3.x. PCs running MACLAN will also have access to any PostScript or AppleTalk printer on the network, the company says. The package supports most existing LAN software, cross-platform electronic mail packages and many database, fax, tape back-up and groupware applications. Software is installed on the PC only, with no software resident on the Mac.
