The conversion from legacy system to a hosted solution will increase the online services Minnesota provides to insurance carriers, agencies and producers, enabling customers to connect with the Minnesota Department of Commerce 24/7.

The Department of Commerce deals with over 85,000 active agents and 7600 active agencies. Within three weeks of installing the new system, 950 license applications were approved and licenses printed immediately.

State departments of insurance using Sircon for States increase the speed-to-market for insurance producers, and ultimately impact the bottom line for insurance carriers, by moving producers out into the field in less time than older paper-based systems allow.

Sircon for States provides built-in support for enforcement case action, consumer complaints, producer data, and rate and form filing. It also opens up direct online access to Minnesota so that insurance carriers and producers can process electronic appointments, terminations, license applications, and renewals through Sircon’s ‘Compliance Express’ service.

Minnesota is also tracking all producer continuing education credits using Sircon technology. Insurance education providers can now send electronic notices regarding course completions for agents directly to the Department of Commerce.
