Deutsche Telekom AG says it and its international partners France Telecom and Sprint Corp applied for one of two telephone licenses in Israel. Telecom said a consortium including its two partners and locals Clalcom and Matav made an offer on Wednesday to the ministry. The consortium would offer transmission of voice, data and pictures at competitive prices, it said. The carrier licenses would run for 10 years, extendable by 10 years. The Dolphin International Telecomunications consortium also said it was tendering; Dolphin includes BellSouth Corp of the US and the Brazil-based Safra banking group. Six consortia were expected to bid in the tender, which closed last Friday.
