Nintendo of America Inc is still debating how to proceed with its contribution to the British Telecommunications Plc trial in East Anglia, UK. The trial, which started in earnest in September, is missing the games channel due to changes in its UK distribution when Nintendo UK Ltd closed down, leaving THE Ltd as the sole distributor. British Telecom said it was expecting a games channel next month but sources close to Nintendo say the US side is still deciding how to approach the future of game play, namely on-line games. British Telecom had no comment on an article in the Guardian that put the cost of the 2,500-subscriber trial at #55m, which works out at around #22,000 per home.
