AT&T Corp has begun USADirect Service direct dialling to the US from Bulgaria, eliminating the user’s need to know the dialling process for international calls, to understand the local language or to carry local currency when making calls: you simply dial the AT&T access code for Bulgaria, which is 00 800 00 10, and then an English-speaking AT&T operator will complete the call, which is billed to an AT&T calling card, US local telephone calling card or as a reversed charges call; the first minute of a call from Bulgaria to the US is $3.25 and every subsequent minute costs $2.65; the service was introduced with the co-operation of the state-run monopoly Bulgarian Telecommunications Co, which will share the profits from the calls with AT&T; the two companies have also improved the quality and increased the capacity for direct-dialed calls between Bulgaria and the US, AT&T said; the service is already available in 140 countries.
