As part of its plans to reverse itself into LANware Inc (CI No 1,137), Migent Software Inc will reportedly shut up shop in Incline Village, Nevada and decamp to LANware’s Markham, Ontario, headquarters; according to Newsbytes, LANware Executive, the key product in the deal, is a network-based office utility that operates over PC Lan, Novell, 3Com, Token Ring and Vianet network operating systems to provide users on the net with access to telephone messages, screen messages, mail, group and individual appointment scheduling, plus common desktop functions such as a note filer, text editor, calculator and report generator, the functions being accessible with hot keys that enable the user to pop over both text and graphic screens, and the product also provides network resource management; the plan is to integrate it with Migent’s Emerald Bay high-end micro relational database management system for machines based on Intel Corp’s 80386 and up.
