The multi-year enterprise license deal covers a range of ongoing projects within the FBI, which underwent a comprehensive evaluation of BI vendors and technologies last year.

This is the second deal MicroStrategy has struck with the FBI. The first, signed in 2004 and worth around $720,000 in software and services, saw the FBI deploy MicroStrategy’s BI technology as a foundation for its Investigative Data Warehouse which aims to facilitate information sharing among different intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

The latest deal establishes a multi-year enterprise agreement for future additional purchases and covers the entire MicroStrategy product suite.

MicroStrategy is headquartered in McLean, Virginia, a stone’s throw away from the heart of US government’s capital. The company has a long and impressive list of federal customers including the US Postal Service, Department of Homeland security and the US Air Force and Army.

We’re well suited for large government agencies because of our scalability, said Gary Monroe, MicroStrategy’s director of federal operations.
