Officials at McLean, Virginia-based MicroStrategy continue to hold their cards close to their chest with regards to revealing any functional specifics before the official launch takes place at the company’s annual user conference.
However, the company did say customers could expect several breakthroughs in interactive reporting and analysis, rapid report design and development, smoother integration with operational systems and SAP Business Warehouse data, and new technology for operationalizing data mining.
The version 8 launch comes at a time when BI platform plays are very popular. Earlier this month, Business Objects SA rolled out its new BusinessObjects XI platform, which integrates the Crystal product line. Meanwhile, Cognos Inc is poised to deliver its Series 8 suite, which will focus on bringing the entire Cognos product platform under the new ReportNet architecture.
