MICROSOFT’S INTERACTIVE MEDIA GROUP WILL CURB GROWTH

By CBR Staff Writer

Microsoft Corp’s declining interactive media group will expand its workforce by 15 to 20% over the next year, down from the 40% rise the group saw last year, according to Reuters reports. Microsoft apparently intends to stabilize it interactive media workforce over the coming year as it concentrates on identifying its most promising direction, which at the moment looks to be the computer gaming market. Microsoft has also said it plans to reduce the number of contract workers it has employed within the group now that many of its interactive media products have gone beyond the launch stage.
