Microsoft’s revamped MSN to target mobile users

Its mobile first move targets to offsets declining conventional business involving Windows and Office software installed on desktops.

By CBR Staff Writer

Microsoft has revamped its MSN news service with a new crisper look, new lifestyle tools in addition to the vital seamless syncing across a range of mobile devices.

The latest refurbishment forms part of the company’s overall strategy to prioritise its mobile devices and Internet-based services to offset declining conventional business based on Windows and Office software installed on desktops.

Further, changes approach as users reading news on smartphones and tablets have rose drastically than on desktop computers.

Microsoft said in a statement: "At the top of the MSN homepage, users have quick access to what we call the Services Stripe.

"This allows easy access to personal services to stay on top of what’s happening in your life.

"With a quick hover, you can easily check your email, browse your OneDrive, or even access your OneNote notebooks. We’ve also integrated popular sites like Facebook, Twitter, Office 365 and Skype."
