MCI Communications Corp is into Microsoft Corp for $10m of software, US PC Week reports. MCI is to deploy a mix of Windows NT Workstation and Windows95 on more than 50,000 desktops as part of a comprehensive three-year BackOffice licensing agreement that also covers licenses for 40,000 copies of Office Professional and use of Internet Explorer on 7,000 systems. The company currently has a mix of OS/2 and NT. It is also close to signing a joint accord with Compaq Computer Corp, Digital Equipment Corp and Microsoft for 6,000 thin clients to be used in call centers, the paper said.
