Following the widening of the Microsoft Corp antitrust case with the company issuing subpoenas to its competitors to try and prove that they do business just like Redmond, it is hardly surprising that the September 23 trial date has slipped. At press time, Dow Jones reported October 15 as the new date following Friday’s hearing in which both sides went over their arguments about Microsoft’s request that the case should be dismissed. Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson did not rule on Microsoft’s motion, but following the hearing the lawyers for both sides met with him to discuss procedural matters. This will be the second date change as the trial was originally slated for September 8.
