At Maker Faire, a Bay Area event for do it yourselvers and backyard inventors, Microsoft will demonstrate collaborations with companies like LEGO, which lets you write a VB program to program a toy robot. Then there’s a game that lets you write an application to a dancing game where you have to push your feet onto touch sensors.
If you find things like this cool, Microsoft’s MSDN Coding4Fun Web has added new content to help to help would-be hobbyist programmers get up to speed using the VB Express freebie tools.
According to Microsoft, there have been over five million downloads of VB and SQL Server Express since those tools were released last November. If you listen to Microsoft, they’ll tell you that some of those Express developers are having fun.
