Demonstrating the growing importance of on-line transaction processing and asynchronous messaging services and its desire to increase the use of its operating systems for distributed applications, Microsoft is to bundle the MTS Transaction Server, or Viper as it was know in its pre-release form, and Message Queue Server (MSMQ), knows as Falcon, with the basic network services of NT Server. It will also add client peer services on NT Workstations and Windows 95. MTS is available now; MSMQ and peer services are due later this year.
