Microsoft Corp has awarded Atiti Technologies, Bangalore, India a $28m, two-year contract to supply technical staff to its Redmond, Washington product development campus. Atiti’s engineers will work on product development for Windows and internet applications.

The deal is another step in the US giant’s ongoing relationship with Atiti, whose Talisma email product is already listed on Microsoft’s site builder network site. Atiti was established in 1994 by Pradeep Singh, a former Microsoft employee.

Atiti’s 1998 group revenue, including US and Indian activities, was $7.3m. Aditi is currently recruiting, in preparation for the Microsoft contract; the immediate requirement, says corporate marketing manager Simonil Kakalia, is for 125 technicians, but as to future recruitment figures, she predicts only that numbers will be large. Figures converted at 42.74 rupees to the dollar.
