Microsoft Corp signed a $5m contract with Asia’s leading travel reservation operator, Abacus Ltd of Singapore, which will license Windows NT Server and SQL Server for an intelligent workstation to be implemented over three years for more than 6,600 travel agency offices in 14 Asia-Pacific countries. Abacus is jointly owned by All Nippon Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Airlines, EVA Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Hong Kong Dragon Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Royal Brunei Airlines, SilkAir, Singapore Airlines and Worldspan Travel Information Services.
