Among the institutions to have joined the program since its launch in October 2001 are Ireland’s Trinity College Dublin, the UK’s University College London, Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh), Lancaster University, Southampton University and University of Cambridge, Germany’s Free University of Berlin, Technical University of Berlin and Technical University of Munich, and Italy’s Politecnico di Torino.

Under the Microsoft Windows Embedded Academic Curriculum License, which forms part of WEMAP, participating institutions are given access to 1.5 million lines of Windows CE .NET source code during a two-to-four year accreditation.
