MICROSOFT LICENSES LEVEL8 FOR MESSAGE QUEUE SERVER

By CBR Staff Writer

Microsoft Corp has licensed messaging middleware from Level8 Systems Inc to better bridge Microsoft’s Message Queue Server with IBM’s MQ Series and to improve the interoperability of the Microsoft product beyond Windows NT. Part of this move will involve the release of an upgrade in the first quarter of 1999 to the FalconMQ client, which supports message queuing on non-Windows operating systems. Under the terms of the deal Microsoft will bundle Level8 FalconMQ Server with the Windows NT Server, as well as making it available on the Microsoft web site.
