MICROSOFT JAPAN AND 13 OTHERS IN CT INITIATIVE

Microsoft Co Ltd of Japan has teamed up with 13 other Japanese computer manufacturers and software companies to form an initiative to establish and promote a standard specification for computer telephony (CT) services. The initiative is called the ActiveX CT Initiative and the founding members include NEC Corp, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp, IBM Japan Ltd, Nihon Unisys Ltd, Lucent Technologies Inc of Japan, Hitachi Ltd, Fujitsu Ltd, and Mitsui & Co, Ltd. The group will seek to define interfaces between business and communication application in CT and for call center systems.
