Mail Boxes Etc (MBE) and Microsoft Corporation announced Tuesday their Public Internet Point of Access Project, a joint marketing agreement designed to leverage both companies’ brand names. MBE, which operates a chain of 3,500 retail centers worldwide specializing in postal, business and communications services, will provide a host of Microsoft internet products that will enable its customers to send and receive e-mail, access the internet, download files and connect with corporate intranets while away from the office. Anthony De Sio, CEO of MBE, sees the agreement as one that helps Microsoft sell software while building MBE’s customer base.
