Bill Gates reckons that Microsoft Corp’s fiscal third quarter figures will be a kissing cousin of the second quarter, with earnings of about 90 cents a share, the same as the company achieved in the second quarter, and not higher because of the sluggish economy and the effect it is having worldwide on the computer industry: There are a lot of markets in the world where the economies aren’t super strong and that is affecting personal computer growth – and it makes it very challenging, and we’re also in a very strong product cycle with so many new products, Gates told Reuters.
