The president of Microsoft Europe, Bernard Vergnes, suggested in a recent visit to Spain, that he was not over-impressed by the contribution of the Spanish subsidiary. There’s something going wrong somewhere, because the relationship between what we invest and what we get back is not in line with the position in similar markets. Vergnes said that Microsoft Iberica was investing three times as much as the arms in neighbouring countries for the same results. He cited pirating as the principal reason for this, adding that he hoped the new legislation would improve matters.
