Goldman Sachs & Co analyst Rick Sherlund reduced his earnings estimates for Microsoft Corp, citing concerns about software pricing and business trends in Europe: Sherlund lowered his earnings estimate for the fiscal year ending next June by 20 cents a share to $2.90 and for the following fiscal year by 30 cents a share to $3.70; in fiscal 1992, Microsoft earned $2.41 a share; apart from the economy this side of the water, the concern is that so many people are now buying their software from the US to avoid rip-off pricing in Europe that vendors are having to cut prices.
