MICROSOFT DENIES RUMORS THAT IT PLANS TO KILL OFF WIN 16

While there’s no doubt that Microsoft Corp is going to stop shipping 16-bit Windows one of these days, it has been busy denying rumors sparked by PC Week columnist Spencer Katt that it has set a July cut-off for shipments of Windows 3.x to its OEM customers. Microsoft insists it has no plans in place to kill off Windows 3.x, though obviously it would rather the whole world migrate to NT Workstation or to Windows 95.
