Mention the name of Microsoft Corp in the context of any company and the share price goes through the roof. Belgian firm Lernout & Hauspie were little known outside those with an interest in speech recognition technology. But after a report in Business Week that its speech to text software may be bundled in the next generation of Microsoft products, its shares leapt 11.8% to $29.4 – though the company would make no comment.
