PeopleSoft’s ex-vice president of worldwide CRM marketing Brad Wilson has been appointed to the vacant position of general manager for Microsoft Business Solutions CRM.

In a letter to Microsoft employees, Microsoft said Wilson would drive the launch of the next version of Microsoft CRM, ensuring the focus on key markets. These markets include small and medium businesses, large corporations and divisions of global enterprises, Microsoft said.

The general manager’s role in CRM has been vacant since last July, when Jeff Young was appointed to head-up MBS’s Great Plains and Solomon units. Wilson will work with David Thatcher, who Microsoft said continues in his position as general manager for CRM development.

Wilson is a 20-year industry veteran, who also served at E.piphany Inc in various roles

The executive appointment follows last month’s launch of discounted licensing and support for customers of PeopleSoft and JD Edwards moving to Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS). Microsoft’s primary goal is to have customers adopt Axapta.
